Experience: Over 18 years of experience collecting and processing, aerial survey data to the highest standards, operating firstly a CASI (Compact Airborne Spectrographic Imager) system and then pioneering the use of airborne LIDAR for flood plain mapping within the Environment Agency. We currently operate the National LIDAR data collection programme for flood and coastal risk monitoring on behalf of the Environment Agency and provide an Emergency Response service for surveying and monitoring events such as floods and environmental disasters.

Combining cutting edge technology with expert personnel, we work to the highest scientific and ethical standards to provide accurate and high quality GIS ready products.

Locations: Headquartered in Bath, Somerset, Geomatics Group flight operations are based at East Midlands airport, although aircraft are able to forward-base from any suitable European airport. We also have access to a large network of depots for operating terrestrial and marine surveys. All data is processed in-house from our offices in Bath.

Surveying Platforms: Geomatics Group has two aircraft: a Cessna 404 and Cessna 406. We are able to access additional aircraft as required and have experience operating our equipment in single and twin helicopters. For aquatic surveys, we utilise two vessels: an 8.4m catamaran or a 6.5m mono hull. Both vessels are road transportable and can be rapidly deployed anywhere.
